Prodigy
Prodigy is a composite vehicle using a modern platform of a 50th Anniversary C5 Z06, and grafting a heavily modified C2 Stingray body on top of this platform. In simplistic terms it is a re bodied 2003 C5 Z06.

Our plan from day one was to produce a modern interpretation of the famous 1963 Split Window Corvette Coupe. 1963 was the first year of the Z06, they produced some 199 examples, and it vanished until its reintroduction in 2001.

We thought it would be cool to use a 50th Anniversary C5Z06, and use this as our donor car to produce a modern version of this iconic vehicle.

Almost 7,000 hours have been spent building this car. I know, I know, we're slow, but we are not 25 any more either.

Prodigy Specification C2/C5 Z06 composite vehicle

CHASSIS

C5 Z06 perimeter frame chassis with seamless hydro-formed tubular steel side rails supported by a skeleton of steel. It is lighter and vastly stronger than any previous Corvette substructure.

BODY

Re designed and massively modified genuine old C2 Corvette body, made to suit the C5 frame. The body is all fiberglass, as per original with a steel "birdcage" structure.

SUSPENSION

A short/long arm (SLA) suspension with aluminum double wishbones and knuckles is used in each corner.
Height and ride adjustable Coil over suspension from Phadt Racing Developments handle the dampening.

A full function Traction Control system is standard, as is the Active Handling system from the Z06.

BRAKES

A premium four wheel disk brake system with ABS is standard, rotors have been upgraded to drilled and slotted.

ENGINE / DRIVELINE

The 5.7 LS6 powerplant has been fitted with a 2.6 Kenne Bell twin screw supercharger.

Rear mounted Tremec M12 close ratio six speed gearbox is mounted to a Gertrac 3:42 ratio diff with shot peened gears.
This layout gives a near perfect 50/50 weight distribution for improved handling.

Clutch is an uprated twin disc design from Spec.

STEERING

The innovative Magnasteer in Corvette is a speed sensitive, variable effort steering system. This computer controlled system, combined with a rack and pinion steering gear, provides maximum steering assist for parking and precise steering feel at higher speeds.

WHEELS

Custom designed "one off" set of billet aluminum wheels, made by Dragway Wheels, from owners design. Wheels are a modern interpretation of the infamous knock off design of the 60's. Sizes are 18" x 10" at the rear, and 17" x 9" at the front. Offsets were made to suit Prodigy's dimensions.
